Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Community lit the menorah on the last night of Chanukah at Playa Flamenca.

This year, on the evening of 25th. December it was lit in Jackie and Alan's garden, and the entire Community was invited. It was heartening to see that more than 20 members attended, along with some family and friends of the hosts.

The evening started with Jackie telling the story of Chanukah. She then explained that the chief participants would be the children present as this was their first Chanukah in Spain. Alan recited the Barochot and Jonah switched on the 1st light. Alan then read Hanerot Halonu in Hebrew followed by Aron giving the English translation. The remaining 8 lights were then switched on by Jonah which, indeed, lit up the entire garden. Noah then sang the 1st verse of Moa t'zur after which the others present joined in with the other verses.

After the singing, everyone present enjoyed the traditional donuts and wine, along with hot coffee.
