This year we postponed our 10th Simchat Torah celebrations as the weather was so horrendous, and we feared that nobody would attend. Therefore 3 days later, to coincide with Shabbat, both services were combined.
There were almost 40 people who came along, most of whom brought plates of delicious food to enjoy after the Service. On arrival the members were greeted by a hall which had been decorated with Israeli posters, bunting and balloons. The decorations had been installed by various Community members.
As usual, just before starting the Service, Jackie officially welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. Alan then led the Service, ably abetted by many of the Community. The parading of the Sifrei Torah, as usual, was the hi-light of the Service and this went off very smoothly with nobody falling over the chairs!!
Following the kiddush, everyone partook of the food and drink.
A selection of photographs and videos from the evening are in the Gallery section of the website.
