Every year in September there is a fiesta in the village of La Aparecida.
There is a Commission of Fiestas who arrange activities for the month. They also pick Queens to attend the various activities. There are 3 little ones, 4 teenagers and two older ladies.
This year my friend and myself were chosen to represent the older generation for all the charity work we have been doing in the village over the past two years.
It is a great honour and I think we are the first English women to be chosen as Queens of the Third Age.
The Spanish people have accepted us as their queens with love and affection.
